In partnership with the Tunstall organisation, Doctors Safety Line is actively involved in advancing the concept of assisted care "Telecare". Utilising signal transmitting sensors Ð of which there is an ever-increasing range Ð operating through a personal emergency alarm, the over-riding objectives of "Telecare" concept, are both numerous and significant.
They include the provision of greater independence and improved quality of life for individuals. Such benefits will flow from the reduction of unnecessary hospital admissions, for dependent people being cared for in their own homes, including the frail elderly, chronic illness sufferers, and people with disabilities.
Working with Government departments and organisations such as our alliance partner, Royal District Nursing Service SA (RDNS), Doctors Safety Line is helping to lead the way in introducing these important new health technologies to Australia.
Entering the final stages of accreditation, the Guardian Angel bracelet is scheduled for Australian release later in 2008. Featuring Global Positioning System (GPS), this watch sized bracelet determines the location of a person who has wandered from their normal living environment. The Monitoring Centre, having identified the position, can advise contacts in order to co-ordinate assistance.
